American pilots: set up APA Calendar Sync

Set this up once. After that, CrewParent Live reads schedule changes from this calendar whenever you open the app, and tries to check in the background a few times a day.

  1. Open the APA Pilot App → scroll to Global Preferences → APA Calendar Sync.

  2. Tap the Apple Calendar icon → Add Calendar → enter a calendar name.

  3. Your username (employee ID) fills in. Create and confirm a password.

  4. Check Layover, Sequence and Leg. Leave PBS unchecked (CrewParent Live doesn’t use it).

  5. Tap Save. Important: also tap the save (disk) icon at the bottom left of the APA Pilot App.

  6. Copy the Subscription Link (Server) address.

  7. iPhone Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add CalDAV Account → paste the server → enter the username and password → add a description → Save.

  8. Still in Calendar Accounts, tap Fetch New Data and set it to Every 15 Minutes, so schedule changes reach your iPhone sooner.

  9. In CrewParent Live, choose Apple Calendar and pick that calendar. Already using CrewParent Live? Go to Settings › Source and switch to Apple Calendar.

Good to know

  • Your APA calendar password stays in iPhone Settings. CrewParent Live never sees it.
  • We never ask for your airline login.
  • Simulator and training events usually aren’t on your crew calendar, so they won’t appear.
  • CrewParent Live is not affiliated with American Airlines, the Allied Pilots Association (APA), or the APA Pilot App.
